Dave Evans, owner of Evans
Construction, was selected as
one of Pacific Business News 2009 Forty Under 40 and was named Best Contractor of the Year from The Home Depot two times in a row.
David Evans was born in Castro Valley, CA. in 1976 to Rosemarie and Thurman Evans. He is the third of six children.
Dave graduated from Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs, CA. in 1994 and moved to Hawaii to attend Brigham Young University of Hawaii and play college basketball. He spent two years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Alaska between 1995-1997. In May of 1999 Dave and his wife, Amy were married in San Diego, CA. and currently have five beautiful children. Dave graduated from BYUH in 2000 in Exercise Sports and Science and later received his Master Degree from United States Sports Academy in 2003.
Basketball has been a big part of Dave’s life. He coached Men’s Basketball at BYUH for a season and then played professional basketball for the Oslo Kings in Norway. He was the Player of the Year in BLNO (Norwegian League) in 2002.
With the same commitment and motivation that he learned playing basketball, Dave started Evans Construction in the fall of 2004 in Hauula, Hawaii.
When he first started the company, it was just himself, his truck, a limited number of tools, a few employees and his work ethic that got the company going. Since then Evans Construction has grown and has completed over 200 different builds and remodels in the past six years. Dave still puts in long days, but says he loves it because he is helping local residents to build their dream homes.
